There are only a few brands that make them and of those brands, there are only three that you should seriously consider. Those are Speed Queen, GE (General Electric) and Whirlpool. Between these three brands, Speed Queen undoubtedly offers the best quality. Designed for commercial use, Speed Queen machines are much better built, making them longer lasting and more energy efficient (they are Energy Star-certified). This higher quality does come at a higher price. Speed Queen machines typically cost nearly twice as much as GE or Whirlpool machines. Despite the significant price difference, we still highly recommend Speed Queen over GE and Whirlpool machines because, in the long run, they offer far better value for your money. If the price of a Speed Queen model is too steep for your budget and you have to decide between a GE and Whirlpool, we recommend you get a GE machine.

When it comes to all-in-one washer dryers, there is one brand that reigns supreme. That brand is LG. Compared to other manufacturers, LG produces washer dryer combos that are better built and more energy efficient while maintaining a competitive price tag. LG’s biggest competitors in this market are Ariston, Fagor, and Haier, which you may have never heard of before. The quality of washer dryer combos made by these brands ranges from poor to decent, but they certainly do not live up to the standard set by LG. These lower quality machines typically sell for $100 – $200 less than LG models, but instead of saving that money, it is much wiser to invest it in a high quality, long lasting, Energy Star-certified LG machine. Most well-known retailers only carry LG washer dryer combos because of the significant difference in quality compared to other manufacturers. In a nutshell, if you are going to buy an all-in-one washer dryer, get an LG.
